CS:GO config location
Config.cfg is the file that is responsible for advanced CS:GO settings. Using it, we’re able to change almost every option related to the appearance and technical aspects of the game.
You may know (or not) that the location of the config file was changed a few years ago when Steam introduced a different categorization of game files.
Before: Previously, in the Steam folder there was 1 config.cfg for 1 game.
Now: Currently, there is one main-config and one additional config.cfg for each Steam account.
We can say that this change was a minimal obstacle for players who didn’t know about it. No worries! Finding CSGO config location isn’t so difficult!
Where is the csgo config file located?
The config file is located in the local folder of your Steam account.
C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\xxxxx\730\local\cfg
C:\Program Files\Steam\
– default installation path (location of the Steam files)
xxxxx
– your Steam account ID
How to find your Steam ID?
Open the Steam app in this location:
Steam profile > Inventory > Trade offers > Who can send me Trade Offers? > Third-party sites
Do you see the line with the URL address? You’ll find there a number that is your steam ID.
how if 730 cfg folder is nothing?
First, make sure you don’t have two Steam folders on different hard drives. If this is the case, it’s possible that the config is placed on the second one.
Furthermore, the best way to fix problems with files such as config is a complete reinstallation of Steam app and CS:GO.
Very good info. Lucky me I found your site by accident.
I have bookmarked it for later!
Great to hear it, mate! Come back as often as you want. 😀
very good tutorial
Thanks, mate!
Si es que lo modifique, como lo restauró a la normalidad? Elimino el CS-GO y ya?
Try to change the file attributes. You can do this by right-clicking on the config file, selecting “Properties” and unchecking the “Read Only” option. This should restore the default settings.
